Our Staff

Anaesthesia is provided by a Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist approved by the Portland Hospital. We only use experienced Paediatric Anaesthetists used to anaesthetising children. Most are working in major NHS Childrens Hospitals or units such as Great Ormond Street or the Royal London Hospital. We will advise you of the name of the anaesthetist prior to the operation.

Practice Manager

Our practice manager is Leanne Crichton who has worked with Professor Hill more or less since he started in private practice. She has a wealth of experience and will help you with any enquiries or concerns you may have. Unlike many practices we do not accept on line booking. This is because we want to confirm we are the right people to deal with your child's condition, we can check if we need to obtain reports or X rays from other hospitals in advance. This may sound a traditional but it has worked well for us for many years and we believe in a personal service.

Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy

These services are provided by the Portland Hospital not us but we will help and guide you with booking appointments and assessment. It may be more convenient for you to have physiotherapy treatment closer to home so our therapists will liaise with suitable local therapists including the NHS if you have an existing therapist. We prefer one off assessments to be done by our own team.

Orthotics and splints

These are provided by an external company - London Orthotic Consultancy www.londonorthotics.co.uk with whom we have been working for a few years. Orthotics may not be covered by your insurance and it is always best to check. In addition UK patients may be eligible to get orthotics from the NHS but we cannot refer directly to the NHS - this would have to be done by your GP or NHS Consultant if you have one.
